Exodus - Take Part (KS2) in Partnership with Scarabeus Aerial Theatre
EXODUS – TAKE PART was a pilot participatory arts project for young people and families at Keys Meadow School in Enfield, North London. The project brought together groups of migrant and non-migrant communities to aid communication, improve understanding and challenge negative perceptions around refugee arrivals. Participants also developed physical and creative skills using exciting and inspirational aerial (circus) techniques. EXODUS – TAKE PART used a combination of activities: yoga, aerial techniques (harness and cocoons), physical theatre and visual theatre, storytelling and textile work. We used images and objects as a starting point to tell stories, through physical theatre games as well as through verbal language.
